New Approach Methods (NAMs) are becoming more common and have been used recently to replicate, enhance, or replace animal-based testing data. Unfortunately, government agencies don’t always accept NAMs in place of animal-based testing. This session will address the use of NAMs and discuss plans to increase their regulatory acceptance

The reauthorization of the Pesticide Registration Improvement Act (PRIA) included a clause that dedicated resources toward reducing animal testing through alternative testing methods, such as New Approach Methods (NAMs). This session will address the use of NAMs specifically under PRIA.
