Alexandra Gobeil
Dr. Gobeil is a toxicologist who helps organizations navigate complex scientific and regulatory challenges. Her work focuses on risk assessment, regulatory compliance, product stewardship, and environmental and ecotoxicology, with a particular emphasis on emerging contaminants such as perand poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). She is skilled at translating complex science and regulation into actionable strategies that inform decisions, mitigate risk, and advance sustainability.
Her expertise includes environmental safety assessments of products and ingredients, contaminated site assessments, ecological and human health risk evaluations, source tracking and product liability support, and the development of compliance tracking and reporting tools. She has led large-scale product stewardship initiatives across industries including apparel, consumer goods, and medical devices. Dr. Gobeil also has extensive experience evaluating site-specific data to assess risks posed by contaminants and stressors to aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems, including developing risk-based screening levels for PFAS and other pollutants. She has supported litigation and arbitration matters through natural resource damage assessments, causal analyses of alleged environmental impacts, source tracking and contaminant fate evaluations, CERCLA liability matters, and personal injury claims.
In addition to client-facing work, she contributes to thought leadership in the field, authoring publications and presenting on product stewardship, PFAS regulation, and sustainable product formulation at scientific and industry conferences. She also serves as President of the North Atlantic Chapter of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry, and remains active in outreach, mentorship, and science communication initiatives.
