
Gary Okey
Gary has been Executive VP for Recycle Aerosol, LLC for 7 years, supporting the aerosol industry and servicing its recycling needs. He began his career with the USEPA and has worked over 4 decades within the environmental service industry, focused primarily on recycling, reuse, pollution prevention, and management of solid, industrial and hazardous waste. His primary focus over the past 20 years has been on recycling aerosols. Gary is a current member of HCPA, NAA and SATA, and has actively served on several HCPA Aerosol Products Division committees and subcommittees, He has maintained the Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) credential for 39 years and has 2 BA’s and an MS in Environmental Science from Indiana University.

As the demand for sustainable packaging grows, the metal packaging industry is focused on improving recycling outcomes and increasing the use of post-consumer recycled (PCR) content. With a particular emphasis on aerosols, this session will bring together experts from across the supply chain to explore the challenges and opportunities in recycling, the current state of the U.S. recycling infrastructure, and ongoing efforts to overcome these barriers. Through an interactive format, attendees will be invited to consider these issues, both as industry professionals and consumers, gaining a broader perspective on how industry can work toward a more circular and sustainable future for metal packaging.
