Tuesday June 24
Industrial & Automotive Products Division Meeting
Fluorinated chemistries provide unique benefits in many end-uses, but certain PFAS have been classified as “forever chemicals” and associated with human health issues. Because of its broad chemical class, PFAS is present across the supply chain and can find their way into products – both intentionally and unintentionally from raw materials, packaging treatments, and through water sources.
During this presentation, attendees will learn about:
Raw material supply chain
- Types of raw materials that are fluorinated, their functions, and end-use applications in household and commercial products
- Alternative approaches to PFAS in raw materials
Packaging
- Use of fluorinated treatments in plastic and paper packaging
- Trends in packaging and the impact of product design on packaging
Speaker:
- Julie Vaughn Biege, Vice President, The ChemQuest Group, Inc.
