John Schierlmann is the Technical Director at IndSpyre Solutions, bringing over 30 years of experience in R&D, innovation, and product management across the raw materials, wood care, floor care, and institutional & industrial (I&I) markets. A Chemistry graduate of the University of South Carolina, he has held leadership roles at Bona, Specialty Polymers, and Rust-Oleum, and is the named inventor on five patents in wood care, air care, and preservation technologies.

As Chair of the Scientific Committee within the Cleaning Products Division of the Household & Commercial Products Association (HCPA), John leads collaborative efforts to update and validate industry test methods and advance safer, high-performing product solutions. A strong advocate for sustainable chemistry, he helped drive PFAS removal initiatives that contributed to IndSpyre Solutions being recognized as a 2024 EPA Safer Choice Partner of the Year--the first chemical distributor to receive this honor.
