Growing up in a coastal Florida town affected by agricultural runoff, Lauren Duffy developed a keen awareness of how the environment affects our health, a foundation that drives her work connecting research, policy and consumer education. At EWG, Lauren assesses chemical safety, sets science-based standards, and upholds the credibility of EWG’s research. Before joining EWG, Duffy led chemical reviews for the Environmental Protection Agency’s Safer Choice program. Duffy holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and a Ph.D. in environmental toxicology from Clemson University.
